2010/2011 FLL Wrap-up:

Click here for a district article about the team

The Shue FLL (First Lego League) 'MOE Nuclear Explosion' team has had an exciting year programming their robot, making a movie and determining how to best spread the word about their hi-tech cancer lesion detecting scanner.
The theme this year is 'Body Forward - Engineering meets Science', and the challenge is to program the robot to preform missions on a playing field such as moving the bionic eyes to the patient, brain nerve mapping, bone repair and detecting bad cells.  The team is also required to determine a real world problem and come up with an innovative solution.  After research and discussions with oncology doctors, the team determined that if cancer lesions could be detected earlier, many lives were saved.  They researched imaging technology and worked with imaging experts to conceptalize a scanner that uses new technology to better detect lesions.  The team made a movie using lego figures to show how the technology would work.

Congratulations to the team for all of their hard work!
