Statue of Liberty Field Trip

The Statue of Liberty field trip is around the corner. For that reason, as a reminder, I am posting important information that will help you plan ahead. Please read all information provided below in order to experience an interesting and successful trip. Please contact me for any questions.

1. Departure time is at 7:05 AM. Please be here on time.
2. Please report to the Shue Cafeteria and stay there until departure time.
3. Itinerary includes visit of the Statue of Liberty and Liberty Science Center movie and exhibits.
4. Pack any prescriptions/medicine you will need during the trip.
5. Please inform me or Mrs. McCormick about any health issues we should be aware of.
6. Return time is at 6:30 PM. Please be at the school main entrance for student pick up.

Security Guidelines

All participants are expected to read and abide by the security guidelines which are enforced by the United States Park Police.

1. Visitors to the Park are required to submit to airport style security screening before boarding vessels. Visitors to the Monument undergo additional security screening.
2. All persons and property are subject to search on Liberty Island. All items considered inappropriate or prohibited will be confiscated and retained by the United States Park Police.
3. Large bags are not allowed on Liberty or Ellis Islands
4. There are no locker facilities at the New York and New Jersey embarkation points.
5. There are locker facilities on Liberty Island for Monument visitors.
6. Backpacks, strollers and large umbrellas are not permitted in the Monument.
7. Food (even unopened) and drinks (including water) are not allowed inside the Statue of Liberty.
8. All weapons are prohibited, including: Firearms, explosives or flammables, knives or sharp objects (including tools), pepper spray and mace.
