Chorus:

• Our last concert is this week! Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Newark HS.
• We have been making a lot of progress with sight singing (music literacy), tone quality, listening
• We are working on our repertoire for our GRAND FINALE CONCERT 
• After the concert, students will prepare for our upcoming Cabaret Night (June 7, revised date) and participate in part testing, sight singing, and mini performance projects.

Music Appreciation:

• We are taking a close look at the use of music in movies and other media
• Throughout our film music unit we will examine music's influence on the visual arts, how to create specific moods, and different film scoring techniques
• There will be a quiz at the end of this week (thursday for even day classes and Friday for odd day classes)
• We will end the unit with a project in which students create a soundtrack for a commercial using Garage Band which will start next week.
