5/7/12 - 5/11/12

6th grade: This week students will be studying pulleys in our simple machine unit.  Students will receive a worksheet on pulleys to complete at home for homework. Please be advised that one of our classes on 5/8/12 will be a shortened class due to DCAS schedule

7th grade: This week students will be continue study on the water cycle and map reading in the watersheds unit.  Students will receive worksheets and must finish all uncompleted classroom assignments for  homework.  Please be advised that some classes will be shortened due to DCAS schedule

5/14/12 - 5/18/12

6th grade: This week students will be studying pulleys and types of pulleys including single fixed, single movable,  singlefixed/single movable ( pull down),  and singlefixed/singlemovable ( pull up) they will be investigating the different amount of effort it takes to lift a load with the various different pulley systems. 

Homework for the week includes a homework sheet on pulleys, study notes for possible quiz

7th grade: This week students will be studying topographic maps including elevation we will be constructing mountains out of play doh to look for countour interval lines we will also be analyzing watershed change over years and the effect our activities have on watersheds.  Also Computer Literacy will take place

5/21/12- 5/25/12

6th grade: This week students will be studying electrical circuits including simple and parallel we will be constructing circuits and tracking the flow of electricity in each circuit

7th grade: This week students will continue to work on watersheds including porosity of surfaces we will also continue with computer literacy.
