The Shue Science Department sponsors two teams of students to compete in the Science Olympiad. Science Olympiad is a state-wide competition among teams from all three counties and includes both public and private schools. Over 60 teams compete in each in about 25 events ranging from the Solar System to Metric Mastery, from Wheeled Vehicle to Tower Building. Events come from all areas of science and technology.

Every student at Shue-Medill is required to complete a science fair project. This is a lengthy and involved process which requires students to select a topic, research background information, design and conduct an experiment, and report their findings to their teachers and peers through an oral presentation. Students work on their science fair projects both at home and in school with their science and ELA teachers. This year our science fair day will be on Friday, June 1st and the awards assembly will be on Monday, June 4th.
