Shue-Medill - Students

STUDENT GOVERNMENT

The Shue-Medill Student Government Council includes two representatives from each grade level which are elected by the student body. The lead council includes a President, Vice-President and Secretary. The President must be elected from the 8th grade class, the Vice-President must be elected from the 7th grade class and the Secretary must be elected from the 6th grade class.

Requirements for involvement in student council include good academic standing, a good citizenship record and good school attendance. In order to be considered a candidate in the council, a student must submit two teacher recommendation letters.

If a student is suspended during the academic year, their involvement in the student council will be reviewed with possible impeachment.

As a student council representative, students will take on a leadership role in the building. They will take part in organizing and participating in activities that support our school. Our goal is to build future leaders as well as continue the development of a positive learning environment for all students.
