The Black History Month Program / Oratorical Contest

Nelson Students

The Black History Month Program directed by Ms. Daniels presented "Extraordinary Women of the Harlem Renaissance".

In addition Mr. Seck and I presented the oratorical contest. The theme was What African American entertainer do you believe made the greatest contribution to humanity in your life time? The winners and prizes were awarded at the end of the program.

Oratorical Contest Wonners:

  • Honorable Mentions (6th Grade): Austin Dunn, Hector Guzman, Jennifer Guzman,
    Georgia MacKay, and Ciara Sostre
  • 3rd Prize: (8th Grade) $25 Alexander White
  • 2nd Prize: (7th Grade)$50 Shadé Archer
  • 1st Prize: (8th Grade) $100 Nina Nyogora

Science Olympiad

On March 27, 2010, the Shue Medill Science Olympiad team participated in the statewide competition at DSU in Dover. The following students proudly represented Shue- Medill School, demonstrating the highest levels of decorum and sportsmanship.
